And now, another {Favorite Place} today...
I've not touched much on my travels to South Korea here on the blog, mostly because all of my travels there were before I started this blog but definitely not because I didn't like the country. I fell in love with Korea on my first trip there, with many more to follow that only deepened my feelings for the country. I've been there a handful of times now and each time, I find myself getting pulled back in. I fell in love with the beautiful countryside, the busy but intimate settings of Seoul and with each of my travels there generally lasting at least a week for work, I had a lot of time to myself to roam around and find my own little places within the country.

I've spent the majority of my time in Seoul but have traveled all throughout the North and South too. Seoul though, for me is one of those cities that is very touching. It's a place that let me fall in love with it when I needed it the most. The years of my life when I was traveling to South Korea a lot were tumultuous ones for me and I've written a post on this before here.
But one of my {Favorite Places} in Seoul is the area that I always stayed and where I worked on all those trips. It's an area of Seoul that is right in the middle of it all and I absolutley fell in love with Dongdaemun. I found my favorite coffee shops there, where I sat and wrote in my journal over a latte, I wandered the streets and got lost and had to find my way back on my own, I journeyed the maze of stalls in the shops there and I've seen it in rain and shine. It's an area that holds many memories for me and a part of Seoul that someday I hope to go back just to visit, without work commitments to enjoy it for just what it is.... a beautiful slice of the South Korean "soul" (pun intended).
